Restricted to North America, the distinct Black Oystercatcher Haematopus bachmani is found along the Pacific rocky coastline. Their
range extends from the western Aleutian Islands, south to Baja California. This Black Oystercatcher was photographed at the Point Lobos State Preserve,
near Monterey, California.
