Dragonflies
Anisoptera


Heavy bodied, large, strong fliers. They have two pairs of strong transparent wings which they hold out to their sides when at rest.


There are some 5,400 species of damselflies and dragonflies on earth. About 318 dragonflies have occured in North America north of Mexico.
