Cisticolas and Allies Cisticolidae

The family consists 116 species divided into 17 genera. They are found in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the Old World. The Taita Apalis Apalis fuscigularis and Long-billed Apalis Apalis moreaui are listed as critically endangered. The Aberdare Cisticola Cisticola aberdare, Yellow-throated Apalis Apalis flavigularis and Kungwe Apalis Apalis argentea are both endangered. Another 3 species are near-threatened and 4 more are vulnerable.
